Is it just me that thinks I have been misled?

After chatting to the nice people at Icecrypt/Turbosat I explained I wanted to buy a receiver for the motorhome. I purchased a S1700CHD as it is on special offer at the moment and because of this seemed a better buy than the 1600 SE, faster processor, more functions etc.

It arrived extremely quick, a lovely neat looking item smaller than my hand but there is no 12v power supply lead like "I " had in mind ....One that plugs straight into a 12v system.
What is supplied is a 240v plug that goes into the wall and reduces to give 12v of power.

Wording on the box...External 12V Power Supply - Ideal for Caravans and motorhomes.

Would you have known otherwise?

Now I need to find out what size the jackleg is so that I can order a 12v online.

I think you are correct, that is not what I would have expected.
But easily rectified thankfully

You should have received a 12v lead and cigarette plug. Go back to whoever you bought it from.

I contacted them and they do not supply the 12v cigarette type lead with any of their receivers

Wow that is the exact one I need and for the sake of a few ££s I might as well buy it.(y) Was gonna do @pappajohn suggestion but I might as well keep the 240v lead.

Well I received one with mine!

Yes , I wrote to them and they said ... am sorry that it was not pointed out to you, we used to offer a cigarette type plug but this was not suitable for everyone so also caused problems.

Got to be a bit careful with some of these cheaper after-market adapters. Bought one for a netbook we use for navigation, b----y thing keeps overheating, destined for the bin.

Since 2008 & many years tugging
On ours just cut the adaptor off and wired it into the vans TV feed. I try to avoid cigar lighter plugs even the best ones are not very good.

Good advice guys thanks. I recently plugged in a very low watt item into a usb and it melted. Just glad I was in van at time.
