Ice making machine

An ice making machine in a motorhome sounds like the ultimate luxury gadget
It actually sounds to me as the only necessary gadget. Warm G&T's? Never!
You can never have too much ice, too much money or too bigger breasts! (Can I say breasts?).

Seriously for a moment, we have a professional ice maker for our restaurant. New they are very expensive but we have a smaller Polar ice maker. It does not need to be plumbed in and makes great ice.
Despite being small it is quite heavy, probably 20kg.
This is for a French site but just use the picture to give an example.

Sante!
PS I hope that you are a traditionalist who is using lemon? None of this new wave, Communist lime or cucumber nonsense!

We have this model but no longer available on Amazon

We have one but can't remember the make as it is at home and we are away. Not that heavy, maybe 2 or 3 kilos at most and starts making ice in about 20 minutes. Was just regretting not having brought it away with us when I saw this thread! I will check the make and post on here.

You get the choice of small or large ice cubes and they are actually cylinders as they slide off prongs into the ice bucket. Quite neat and the only thing it does require besides water and electric is good ventilation around it for the fan.

We got ours from lidl last year £80. Fits nice between the front seats and is used to put the ice cold g and ts on it. Result duel purpose. It has been a god send in croatia and now when its 35 degrees. Its been a real winner. It means that we don't have to have drinks in the fridge.(apart from beers) so helps the fridge by nor overloading it. I don't have to worry about how much ice I'm using so just fill the glass with ice and top up with gin oh and a bit of tonic!! I noticed that they were in sale at aldi this month for the same price. Regards Sue

Here’s the Aldi one. Cannot recommend as I didn’t buy one.

Ambiano Ice Cube Machine for just £79.99. Check it out: Broken Link Removed

Just jumping in on this thread. I have an ice maker that I bought when I lived in the US. It's since sat idle because of the voltage. Does anyone know if i can use it and, if so, how please? I'd rather not throw it away if I can get it to work again :)

could have sworn Ive seen highe fridges full of it at garages etc
Maybe, can't say I've ever looked for it, I just had this idea in my head that it wasn't a thing over there.
It may be a snippet of useless information stored from 20 years ago and no longer relevant, I seem to have lots of those 😮
Happy to be corrected 😃

we have this one, its OK but nothing special - i wish you could get a 12 volt one

Bought bagged ice in Spain recently 75 cents I think and helped get freezing compartment colder 😎🍻

Maybe make your way to a local pub/taverna and put some of your hard earned shillings back into the economy 😂😂

My brother goes camping in Norfolk for a couple of weeks at a set time every year with tons of friends. They have a massive setup. When the communal battery array that charges all their phones and runs the LED lighting in the event shelters has charged up from the solar for the day, he switches the spare photons over to making ice. Very similar to the one TCG has. I think he just runs it off a relatively low power invertor.

Bags of ice are certainly available around yachtie ports in Greece and I presume other countries as well.

We bought bags of ice regularly in Lidl in Spain. They are about 89c and the ice cubes are jumbo size. I bought a little cool box and what wouldn't fit in the freezer lasted the rest of the day in that 👍
