You should simply set you kit to update only when connected to wifi

But if you use wifi to connect to the mifi, the kit thinks it is on wifi.

I've changed it to notify before downloading. Another benefit of having the oboist. Not gat that problem to worry about.

Where and how do you do that... I thought it downloaded automatically if updates were available and you were on WiFi. .
You can then choose when to install but by then it's used your data..

Is there a way to stop downloads on that if you are on wifI. ??
Ps.. I've had a look in system preferences... a little bit more info would be good.... where I preferences can I do set it to ask before downloading...

Andy my phone is a Samsung Note with Android O/S to get to the operating system update settings I go the following way.
Settings >> general >> about device >> software updates , there I see the option to download via wifi only , and turn on / off auto updates for the O/S.
As for the app updates , to turn of auto updates I do as follows.
Apps >> Play store app >> then select the menu ( the 3 lines up the top left ) , settings >> then Under general click auto update apps , then I select do not update apps.
That way I can update my phone & apps when I choose..

Sorry @peterc10 I've bought it for Alan's house. He's not there often enough to pay for bb each month so this will be perfect for him. Tried mine and it works there
