I decided to remove all my windows and reseal them

I'm glad I did I've found 2 so far that although have done no damage they're definately leaking

The interior is out the van being reupholstered so i thought this was the perfect time to do the job , my van has the seitz windows fitted and I have to say it's a very easy job and at least I know it's done right now and won't leak for a good while.

3 done 3 to go so best get back to it :)

Hmmmmmmm.....Got a Swift then, I see.......:):)(y)
Lol no chance I don't buy motorhomes made by caravan manufacturers I prefer motorhome s built by motorhome manufacturers :)

That said when you take windows out you don't have realise just how flimsy the construction is on these things

Got the damp meter out yesterday, nearly had palpitations, shoved the probes under the rubber on the windows, every one went off the scale, so got the rubber off one , dry as a bone! So shoved the probes just in the rubber, off the scale, has anyone else found that the rubber reads soaking even though it's dry, never come across anyone saying that before, could have you ripping your van to bits for nothing

Hardest part of the job was getting the little grey screw covers off ....The end of my thumb is wasted with that job lol , took 2 tubes of wetherseal to do all six windows but luckily all surrounds were solid so pleased with that

Here's a few pics of the diy panel reupholster I've been doing ...

The one on the left is original and the recovered with black suede on the right

You can see in this pic just how faded the green was in the cab area , the three little panels are inserts that sit on the dash , they're almost white in comparison to a curtain from the rear of the van

The headboard, coat hang panel and the panel behind lounge (which you'll only really see when centre bed in use )

And that's my bit done for the minute , just have to wait for the cushions and cab seats to come back from the upholsterers :)

Well technically hymer is a motorhome builder and their sister company Eriba was the caravan builder :p
But it's German different class from British builders ....

You answered my question, thanks. :) Hymer build everything now, including Eriba and Fendt, both high quality marques. And of coarse, your spot on with German kit.

Yep I had a few Eriba caravans in the past they were great behind vw campers , I've not had a hymer yet I very nearly had one this time as I viewed one before buying the mobilvetta , they're very similar but the one I viewed had been owned by a guy who had hashed it so i bought this one for a few grand less.

This one will be kept now for a few years and hopefully my next van will be a burstner elegance or aviano :)
