Spent last night at Wissant, by 8pm it was full so today we thought we would go up to Tardinghen Farm, a few km inland, for a bit of peace and quiet before we catch the tunnel train tomorrow
So, we arrived around midday, just one other van here. From Belgium. Perfect
We went for a walk and another Belgium van turned up. A huge Frankia that immediately got stuck on the grass. On the way back, 6 or 7 cars turned up and started unloading powered paragliders. They have been flying around all afternoon.
At about 3pm, another Belgium van turned, then another and another and another. Now, we are surrounded by around 20 Belgian motorhomes.
What's going on?

We have noticed, when heading to our French base, that the Autoroutes reflect the holiday patterns very accurately.

April and May, they are clogged with Dutch motorhomes. In late June and July the Belgians rule.

In 2016 we saw fewer Brits than in previous years.

In recent years we have seen more and more Swiss holiday makers.

Nevertheless, we always say that Holland must be empty in June.
