I meet up with Geordie Billy and Irene again at Praia Da Rocha.

As well as bringing down the ride in mower he also brought my Onan generator...

He shows me it running...

Who wants to park next to me when I have fitted that in my Hymer?

All I have is a black screen JJ but I know what you mean, I have one in my RV and they ain't quiet , in fact they Rev at full all the time.
Never figured why with technology as it is they cannot drop revs when on low demand, Hondas etc do.

basically because they are not inverter generators.. they are simple alternator generators

to maintain a constant 50 hz ( 50 cycles per second) they have to run at a constant speed of 3,000 rpm

Hondas and their ilk have inverters that allow then to run at low revs when the load is light, but still maintain 50hz,. This also reduces fuel consumption..

Ta Jim, I'm an ignoramus when it comes to electricity of any kind (y)

Noisy but just think...

Parked up peacefully minding you own business and some comes and parks their van really close...

Lean over from your seat
... press the button... genny fires up and they move away.

Result!

Remote electronic dump valves have much the same effect.

It’s an unfortunate name for a generator. And a bit inappropriate perhaps.

That thought had occurred to me too. The complaint about generators is usually to do with the abuse they inflict on others, rather than on what the owner is doing on their own.

Still, if you are parked up on your own, far away from anyone else, all alone, what else are you going to do? Clearly some 'toys' need a lot of power!

Well.....me surely my Dear! Although I haven't listened to it yet , it seems it is not that quiet! But can't play the video with sound on, baby John and baby Rose are still sleeping while baby Adèle does her best to help me posting:unsure:

I am convinved that it'll do a great job either to give you/us electricity AND to keep away from BigHymer and LittleHymer Max the rude ones trying to steel away your/our privacy !
