Hello all!

My little Hymer needs a part that I don't find in France . So I e-mailed before COVID this site for the part:

http://www.caravanbreakers.net/

I had a reply from Linda who told me to send measurements and pics of the part. I was about to do so, but then Covid changed it all. Knowing the post office would not work , I didn't want to order the part in case it got lost.
Since post office and my dealer have re-open I decided to send a new e-mail with measurements and pics, but never had an answer. Last time she replied within 24hours. May be it's me being too impatient, I sent my e-mail on the 17th so 6 days ago.
Measurements are 38,2 cms length and 18,6 cms width.
Thing is the wood inside, on the right side of the vent, is rotten. They can do the job quite easily but thing is the vent broke last time they touched it. As you can see the part was a tad larger before, there's a dark line mainly under the vent . As it was broken they glued the vent . If they take it off now to repair the wood, it will brake into bits. So I need the vent first to make sure it will be there when they repair the wood.

It would be very nice if one of you could give a call to make sure they are open or if they didn't answer because they don't have the part. Thanks in anticipation for your help.

no one answering the phone and it doesnt go to answerphone either, sorry

couldnt someone make a trim for you out of upvc? it might not have the rounded corners but i am sure it could be done without too much trouble?

or you could potentially glue a flat piece of upvc over/directly on top of the existing 'surround' before its removed, adding strength and stability to it for when it is removed?

As they are based in Wales, they are still on full lockdown, so will probably be closed.

yodeli it appears to be closed. I went on the facebook page and tried to Direct message and it came back with:

Hi Ryan, thank you for messaging The Caravan Centre. Due to Covid-19 we have temporarily shut down our Facebook page. However, please redirect your query to info@caravanbreakers.net and it will be answered there. Thank you for your support?.

Also, they appear closed due to this:

I thought it was closed due to covid but wanted it to be checked just in case I was wrong. I did email via the same address you gave me . This is where Linda replied the last time

MisterB

They told me (at the dealer) whatever they could do the glue they put was far too strong to unstick the vent without it braking into bits. I guess they know what they put. Right now , having a new part stays my best option. Unfortunatly I have no time to look for any other option.

Hopefully I'll have an answer when lockdown is lifted in Wales!

Thanks all for your help!!(y)

Furthermore, just had a message back. Doesn't help you much further than what you know. But could be useful for someone else in need.

Hello Ryan, we are open for trading monday-friday 8:30-5:30. Either knock the small door as the gates aren't open or give us a ring when you're outside: 01495792700 Thanks, Emma.

Have you tried O'leary's near Hull just a few miles from us. If they have the part I am happy to collect and send it on to you.

yodeli .................. Frankie my little angel...

E, mail these with your photo`s and if they have them but cannot send to France let me know and they can send it to me and I will send it on to you..

Or if they say they don`t send to France... let me know and I will pay and get it out to you..

After all you have done for funsters that is the least I can do...:hugs::*

Hope you are keeping safe and well... :france::cheers:
