I have a waterworks problem? (1 Viewer)

Van has been drained down for awhile now and since half filling the tank it is reluctant to come through the taps. Cold tap open it only spluttering out, the hot tap hardly anything. I have seen on here a simple answer but cannot find it. I am sure someone will have an answer.

Sounds like the pump inlet is sucking air in... Maybe

Those are the exact symptoms of when I forget to close the frost protection valve.

Check frost valve is shut.

I keep a bookmark to this video handy on my phone. The frost valve trips pretty easily as soon as the temp drops. This video gives you a good talkthrough of how to set up and drain down.

I would say frost protection or boiler drain tap open.

I fill hot system first. It takes ages. Then the cold.

Sounds like :-

Frost valve open
Drain valve open.
A split union or pipe in the system - look for water leaks.
Pump has frozen over winter and is not running well - that happened to our submergible pump.

This used to happen everytime we drained down our system. At hand over the guy told us to physically shake the boiler. Worked every time. Must be an airlock

We had a split in the plastic filter situated near the pump, I hadn’t drained it out prior to winter, it split and was letting air into the system.

Oh I think we've all done it.
Once had a neighbour onsite ask why water was pouring out of the back of the mh.
