I have really tried over the years including joining wine clubs, having a wine rack with 60 or 70 bottles in at any one time, drinking wine with meals and at parties etc., but I can still say after all these years that I don't really like the stuff. I am envious of my friends who obviously get a great deal of enjoyment from the grape, and being a frequent visitor to France in the van feel like I am always missing out on one of life's great pleasures. What can I do?
I don't hate wine as such although I do admit to having difficulty understanding how people can wax lyrical about some of the tannin-rich reds I have tasted, and can even mildly enjoy a white Grenache or a sweet german wine as long as I drink it like pop. It also seems like the cheaper the wine the more I can drink, but that may be my brain balancing cost against enjoyment. I am not tee total at all and enjoy nothing more than a large gin and tonic, a Smithwicks or Guinness in Ireland or a good real ale, but wine leaves me cold. Is this unusual for a keen motorhomer?
