But my indicators make little or no noise anymore. Would new relays sort it or am I being daft? I hate leaving them on and the click has departed the flasher. Any ideas please?

I know what you mean. You would have thought there was a way of amplifying the indicator beep as needed, wouldn't you?

You need to top up the blinker fluid, it’ll replace the clicking (or blinking as our yank cousins say).

👍🏻😀

I was pretty much aware of all of that BUT enjoyed the video
He is a bit of an odd ball, but does explain some common everyday things in a way anyone can understand. He is a really good teacher.

If you have a towbar, you could try this.....

Worked for me!

Remember these

Last week I followed a car towing a trailer, the car indicated it intended to turn left and the trailer indicated right
:xangry:

No one seems to have addressed that fact that (presumably) they used to make more noise and now they don't? This seems odd whatever system they use.

My 20 year old VX220 uses good old fashioned relays. It's the relay that controls the flashing produces the noises. Therefore if the noise stops the indicators will no longer work. Sometimes old systems are better.

Remember wind up windows, they were fantastic. The other day in a snow storm i just wanted to tweak the window open a fraction to let some fresh air in, down the bloody thing went all the way and the car filled up with snow.xroll:

Yep - I remember them. My VX220 still has them! :giggle: In fact pretty much no modern electronics, including no power steering.

I have wind down windows in my van. I didn't think to check before buying as I had presumed all would be electric these days. The mirrors are manual as well.

It is a pain in the butt not being able to wind the passenger window down from the drivers seat, and adjusting mirrors is seriously frustrating.

sometime new tech is better :)

Mk 1 Mini Coop[er S, sliding windows, mirrors on top of wings, no soundproofing, no power anything, tiny pedals, But what great fun to drive !!

You can stop that using the control switch.

It must be set to auto drop on one touch.

I am aware of this but I have not mastered the art of electric window finger control, just like I cant play the opening strings of 'wish you were here' on the guitar. I am just not a finger sort of guy x:-)
