I bought a 12v Hella adapter for my TV, but it doesn't fit the Hella socket in my Hymer, because it's too fat. I've googled away, but I can't find anything that is definitely the correct size. Does anyone know where I can get a slim Hella adapter capable of fitting a Hymer socket?

Getting better month by month.
Was it definitely a Hella? Some after market connectors have the red sleeve around the end for a cigarette lighter socket, which you have to remove to make it fit the smaller Hella size.

Thanks for the suggestions but they all look much the same as the one that I bought. It doesn't push in far enough.

Always found standard Hella plugs fit OK, have you measured your adaptor against a Hella plug that fits.

Why not buy a Hella plug that fits and change the plug on your lead, I always find adaptors a bit iffy and the Hella plug is a much better connector than a standard cig lighter plug.

According to Brownhills, this is what I need. It's specifically converting from a German Hella 2 pole socket to an English 12v socket. I'll let you know when it arrives!

Thanks for the suggestions, some of which may well have fitted, but it was a case of once bitten, twice shy :cautious:

Yes yours is cheaper, but Brownhills have been so helpful with 3 rapid replies to my questions, I thought that I should give them the business. It'll probably boost their profit this year significantly :D

P.S. Out of stock and wouldn't have been Post free (y)

Well, this arrived today.............and it fits! And, yes, as I discovered yesterday, both my 'local' dealer shops have loads of them in stock and for £1 less But it was Brownhills who convinced me that it would fit.

But it doesn't fit in the way that I expected because the original one that I bought (above) from Road King is similar. It's failing appears to be that it only has 2 side contacts instead of the 6 on the 'Adapt-it' and that is why the Road King version wobbles about and falls out (n)

I'm glad you've got sorted, I've used both types and prefer the type you now have, as you say , they're a lot more stable especially if plugging
into a socket on a wall.(y)

Yes, it's clear now that the Din type plug that you illustrated was the right one
