Have not bought one yet.
I will be buying a motorhome in the very near future and very much like the Hymer Starline 640 on the merc sprtinter chassis as I will be spending a great deal of time in this vehicle I want space and comfort. Dont mind spending 20 to 30 k on a vehicl e with everything but must be RHD and must be 3500 kg. Was also looking at the Pilote Reference G640 but rather the merc chassis, though ive read good things about the fiat chassis too. Would welcome the views of other members.

I presume at 20-30k you are looking at the 1998-2006 sprinter 2.7L. I have the manual version (B525) and v happy with it. Mixed views about the sprintshift (not a full auto) , have a search on here before making a decision. There are a few full automatics around (DSG) but v rare.
The other concern may be weight. Mine was 3650 fully loaded ( 2 adults a teenager 3 bikes, canoe and lots of "stuff" but I suspect that if it is just you you might be okay at 3500kg. Mine was plated from the factory at 3840 and in fact I have up plated it so we can take even more "stuff".
And welcome!

Village idiot
I have a Hymer 655 starline 2005. 3.85t manual. Prices for hymers are through the roof at the moment and adding starline makes it even more expensive. I love my van 5th van for us and it fits. I got mine chipped by a fanatic technician. Now have 200bhp and 400torkies. And on my last trip last week o managed 29mpg. Happy days.

Hi Guys, yes the payload not great. Unfortuneately in Ireland with a B licence im stuck at 3 5 ton. Seems like I might be looking at a Hymer B544. I like the Pilote Reference G640 but the lounge is not great size.

Great vans. We had a star line 630 and loved it all but for the body roll. If I still had it I would put air suspension on it at least on the rear.
