If I was you, I would first find out the problem with the present ELB99/
LR1218 system not charging your Starter battery. There may be better Solar Controllers available but until you find the present fault, they may not work either, unless of course your LR1218 is defective?
I think the problem is the LR1218 is wired via the EBL but the EBL 100 (that is what he said he has) doesn't have connections to the starter battery. See my post #35.

Just checking Voltage at LR 18 and red wire ( starter battery) 14.2 volts
black wire ( leisure battery ) 14 .2 volts
Actual engine battery shown on display 12.7 volts ?

That says the solar is not connected to the starter battery.

I have just noticed looking at the display that the Leisure amperage is showing far to high
currently +50 Amp with a ? after it .

I think the problem is the LR1218 is wired via the EBL but the EBL 100 (that is what he said he has) doesn't have connections to the starter battery. See my post #35.

Yes, it is an EBL100/LR1218 system the same as I have.
Looking at his photograph, there is a Starter battery o/p (Red cable) from the LR1218, which should go to a plug/connector /splitter cable assembly that allows the Starter battery/ Solar connection to EBL Block 2 connector.
He may be assuming there is no connection between the EBL/LR1218/ Starter battery because of lack of charge?
The EBL Block 2 connector is disconnected, then reconnected to the EBL using the supplied splitter cable which then allows a Block 2 ,LR1218 o/p and Starter battery connection. (see AUTOROUTER post #56)
Your post #35 wiring is intended for solar input to Hab battery/EBL only, which is correct.

Can you confirm what your actual battery readings are at their terminals?
Just the Starter battery will do to compare with Display reading.

Yes readings from terminals on LR 1218
Notice the crappy scotchlock connection on yellow wire to
block 2

Looking at my EBL100/LR1218 system, the red cable o/p from the LR1218 (Starter battery)should be 'connected' to the red wire (pin 1) on Block 2 of the EBL. (second from left, 5 pins)
Not sure what your 'crappy' connection is for?
At least it looks like your LR1218 is working?

Must be getting a little confusing for you now KUSKUS?
The above installation info is as per the manufacturers (Schaudt) instructions.
Will be off now. Good Luck.

That looks like the red lead scotchlocked to the yellow probably goes to the starter battery that would make sense. Could well be the scotch lock connection is your problem assuming the other end of the red cable is connected to the starter battery. I would check the red cable goes to the starter battery first.

red wire goes to warning buzzer for step.
All the wires going to engine battery are heavier duty.

Just realised you were talking about block 2 the solar connections are on block 6 looks like there are 3 wires connected to it. If they only go to the LR1218 that will be your problem as the EBL 100 doesn't have a connection to the starter battery.

Yes brown red and black coming from block 6 and as you say no engine battery voltage coming from there only leisure battery voltage.

That left-most connector is Block 1, not Block 2. The three wires go to the fridge: blue positive, brown negative, yellow is D+ (tells the fridge to switch to 12V power when the engine is running). I presume the crappy scotchblock is a convenient way of tapping into the D+ signal for some other device.

Does the fridge actually run from 12V when the engine is running? It should go through a 20A fuse near the starter battery. That sounds very like the burnt-out fuse you just repaired.

Yes fridge works on 12 volt when engine running.
When I removed melted fuse I noticed 12 volt disappeared from display above door, didn't think to check if fridge was working .
