Morning, those of you who have helped me before might be all over this issue.

The Truma heating controls for shower water etc.. I have two dials, one with a switch option of 40/60 degrees plus another one with the same option but with a rotary dial of temperature.

My question is not only how do they control stuff but where is the water heater and how does it work? Is it 12v, gas or mains? Is there a master switch I'm not seeing? I have a drop down cupboard front in the kitchen area with three gas knobs. One for the fridge, one for the hob and the other for heating. But how do you know if the gas is lit, fridge and heating, and how do you light it...?

Obs a tad nervous about gas as have had a near miss a few years ago with a split pipe. Just need to be sure this time.

Thanks as ever. ❤️

Our 2013 b694. The red knobs under the hob are isolation valves. The gas from the bottles first comes here, and then goes onto the hob, fridge and boiler.
Our hot water boiler/ heating is accessed from the garage on the uk offside.
The heating/ boiler runs off 12v for its control and to power the fans. You may have 240v elements as well, but the gas is more powerful and quicker.

The 40/60 controls the temp of the hot water. We only have 1 control . Our heater is gas only.
The outer ring rotated to 2 o clock ish selects hot water only, 40 or 60
Rotated to 5 o click is is hot water and heating, 40 or 60.
The inner dial selects temp to heat the van to.

If the fridge is running on gas you will be able to hear the gas burner via the lower external fridge vent. Note , this is when first lit. Our fridge switches the burner off when fridge is down to temp, relighting it when needed. Earlier fridges varied the height fthe flame.

Terrific info thanks. Haven't seen anything in the garage, but then I wasn't looking for it before. I'm stating the obvious I guess, but the gas is turned off when driving? Is it possible to cool the fridge when driving? So much to get your head around... Thanks again. ❤️

Technically you should turn the gas off before driving. You should have an option on your fridge to set it to be powered off the engine battery. Best thing to do is get the fridge cool via gas or mains electric then when driving the engine battery setting will keep it cool. Remember to turn it off after your drive or it will flatten your battery.

Of course some vans have a safety system which allows you to keep the gas on while driving. Not sure if you have this or not. I don't have the safety system but to be honest I sometimes drive with the gas on anyway. It's really up to you.
