My 2012 HymerExsis has 2 small cracks in the red part of the right hand side back lights. I have been told that as long as no white light is visible it will not fail its MOT, just an advisory but I am concerned it may get worse so if possibleI would like to replace the plastic lens. I cannot see any part number on the lens and I wondered if any funsters have any information that might help me source a replacement lens or light unit

, new or second hand

Brownhills used to have a lot of Hymer parts on eBay after they lost the dealership

I sourced one for mine from them, but it still cost over £500 dread to think what the Hymer price would have been

Good luck, I would definitely wait for it to get worse 👍

You could email Hymer directly ( service@service.hymer.com ) with a photo of your Vehicle ID plate and the light unit and they will identify the part details for you and let you know if it's available, or you could try a UK Hymer dealer:

We have also used Brownhills and find if you contact them directly prices are normally 10% less than their eBay price

Remove it and use your soldering iron and plastic weld the crack on the back side.Basically melt the crack and prevent it from going further. It will not show through from the front side (Main side) . It will not show white light either because its double skinned and prevents the light in the first place from showing through being a moulding. Dont waste your money. The garage is being a little over the top to be honest.

I've had Hymers with those lights and have in the past bought one in France & another in Germany less than ½ the UK price, last one cost €136.
