Hey
We have a 2007 hymer b514 on fiat ducato. I am really not impressed with the build quality. Anyone else have the problem with the plastic cover over dashboard? I mean from the dashbord till the front window. I dont know how its said. Its really annoying on bad road or when you drive over some bump, hole etc. This plastic i think its not fit very good and make a lot of noise. You can't even talk normaly in a car when driving on a bad road. Any suggestion or what to do? We had older (smaller) hymer before and there it was a lot better. Here its really annoying. Look at the attached pictures - this shinny plastic i mean. Any sugestions or solutions?

Do you mean the cream coloured part? Remove, find rattle, refix better than original. You're not on your own. I have a Le Voyageur and the screen-to-dash plastic is in one piece. It started a "flapping" and very loud rattle over uneven surfaces. Under the screen it had been glued to a hard plastic filler strip laid flat under the screen. The filler strip was glued to the fibreglass. Blobs of PU adhesive some of which were an inch high were stuck in varous places underneath it. None of the adhesive was actually stuck to anything. hence the noise.

Welcome back ;) i mean this dark plastic cover over entire front part. Its crazy how "cheap" this is and how much noice it produces. You get an headache if you drive on a bad road for half an hour or so. Is there any tutorial of how get this apart? Its from one piece of plastic i think and could be lot of screws, clips and hidden clips ;) and not sure what to do when i get this apart. Fix it better, put something like rubber bellow or...?

It will all be held by inconvenient ad-hoc fastenings. Start by removing the shiny cream parts: I suspect some of the fastenings for the main section will be beneath them. A plastic kitchen spatula makes a safe pry-bar for investigation (and releasing clips). There appears to be a plastic cap or caps on the screen vent moulding. If there are plastic caps they'll have fastenings underneath. You won't find published information on the job anywhere: your best hope is that someone on the forum has done the same job.

I know this is an old post but how did it go? I also have many rattles and squeaks from this plastic shroud that I’d like to reduce.

Thanks.
