Calling on your collective wisdom. 2018 Dynamic Line the fibreglass bonnet has really dulled as has the front curved fibreglass panel above the windscreen. The bonnet I have hand polished with Auto Glym Paint Renovator then applied Turtle Wax Ice synthetic liquid wax it’s come up quite well. Will do the panel above the screen later in week, any suggestions as to what will restore the paintwork other than that already used on bonnet would be most appreciated.

Enough
Is it all gel coat areas that have gone flat/dull?

I have had some Meguiars 49 oxidisation remover delivered this morning and tested on a bit of gel coat that has done this on ours, looks like it’s going to come up really well and then I’ll apply a coat of autoglym super resin polish for extra shine.

The Meguiars 49 is £15 on Amazon at the minute.

Since 2008 & many years tugging
Happens on all A Class vans with GRP front end and aluminium body.
Comes back with a GRP restorer but don't do too often or use a too course restorer. The Gel coat is much thinner than on boats, get too vicious and you will cut through it.

So, buy a multi thousand pound non-British motorhome and, after two years, the paintwork goes dull! Headlights at £1k+ I can understand why you would want one!

Stands back, dons tin helmet and awaits the flak.

No doubt about it, A class spares are mental money. We have a Rapido, the sum total of its spare parts must be the equivalent of decent lottery win.

Yes, thank you
You are not alone we have an issue with the colour *white* on out Pilote , Dealer has been great trying to sort out Pilote say * thats ok!* Dealers are sending to bodyshop to sort out at no cost to us,, its obvious that they out source production and so colours may vary. A boat yard in Freckleton produces over cabs for a variety of British motorhomes and everyone is a varying shade of white!

You may think it ridiculous, but all millitaries around the world buy more vehicles/planes than used as it is so common to have one in the garage stripped for spare parts to keep others immediately roadworthy/airworthy

They oxidise over time, quicker with more sun. I assume this one has had lots of direct sunlight on the front?

Remember after you use the super resin polish you need to wax it .....polish only shines the paint it's the wax that keeps it shiny ....2 coats is best

Two coats of wax applied nice and shiny for now so will help the bugs slide off🤪🤪🤪 Whilst up there ended up washing the whole roof and waxing it, the high gloss finish on the hail shield is very easily cleaned.

Never use auto glym on the fibreglass sections you need a good boat cleaner wax, Polish and wax
I use the starbrite range.
