Hi,

Last night all of the taps and the toilet rinse were running very slowly suggesting a leak somewhere.

Investigation this morning shows water running out of the bottom of the shower corner unit. No water gets to the shower head.

I imagine the connection to the shower tap has come adrift but how to get to it.

It looks like there are three screws (I assume screws from the covers) holding the unit as well as sealant all around. The unit also has electricity (a light) and heating (hot air).

Should I be trying to dismantle the whole thing, or could I just try to remove the tap unit. If so how, please.

I don't know about your Hymer but our Adria has an access hatch in the top of the void where your blue light is.
You almost have to lie down on the floor to see it. Might be worth checking.

Watching with interest as I have the same layout on my Hymer.

I personally would remove the tap first before taking the unit out as it may be a small fix 🤞

Out of interest, did you drain your system down over winter?

Same unit as in our B678. Can't see any way to remove the tap from above. We have Alde heating so we can remove the redundant Truma blown air vent and reach the bottom of the tap through the hole. You may be able to do that and then try moving the vent tube out of the way?

Thanks, Peter. Worth a try. Might be able to see the problem, if not fix it.

I’m certain that the hot water pipe has come adrift/split at the shower tap.

I did drain everything before the winter but it’s possible some water may have been trapped in pipe bends.

Well, I’ve removed the heater air tube valve. I can push the tube somewhat out of the way.

The photo attached was taken upwards through the vent hole in the recess to the underside of the tap. I’m not sure what I am seeing. There’s one pipe that looks well secured with a spring clip - and a hole. I cannot see/feel another tube which I expected to see floating about in space. I would think the tube is too rigid to just disappear downwards out of sight.

Any bright ideas? I’m a bit stuck now. If I could locate the hot water pipe and block the end at least everything would work, albeit with a cold shower.

And here’s the potential solution, if I can only push that back where it belongs, after realigning the insert.

It looks like the hot pipe has detached from the fitting on the tap to the right of the cold pipe and has fallen down. Not sure how you could find it. Try running your hand down below if you have enough room.

You could also try switching on the tap on the cold setting and see what happens

Just seen you new post. Try pushing the hot pipe back into the tap. It looks like it has a push fit fitting on it.

The black clip acts like a jubilee clip. You have to release the pressure on the clip prior to pushing the fitting back in place. Then secure pipe back in place with black clip.

Thanks. I think the insert in the hot pipe is deliberately angled to allow two pipes to fit close together into to tap unit.

I cannot figure out how to push the tube back into it’s fitting, when the hole is much smaller than my hand. Maybe a metal “splint” taped to the top of the tube but I’d probably have to leave it in situ. Or if I was clever a “Y” shape at the top. I need a metal coat hangar or maybe a larger diameter hose with a split down the length to try. Otherwise it’s looking like trying to remove the whole corner unit.

The red and the still connected tails, attach into the base of the tap, by pushing them in, BUT then pushing a pin through the tap base. The metal pin passes through the groove that goes around the tail.

Ahh. I wonder what happened to the pin! Maybe that was the root cause?

I would be surprised if it still isn’t in the fitting. They are a tight push.

I would question if water may have been in pipe and freezing of it pushed the pipe out. Just a thought.

Possibly pin in red box, still holding cold tail in place, and blue shows cut out where pin is extracted/inserted

Wow. I may not fix this problem, but thanks I’ve learned plenty!

I‘m sure you’ve looked, but on my Adria I have a hatch on the other side of the wall (outside shower room), hidden by bed, so that I can get to the workings of my shower valve.
I think you will ideally remove then refit the tap to do the repair. Getting the pin out, then back in, when holding two pipes, whist in a tricky place wouldn’t be fun.

No easy access. Managed to prise the bottom of the corner unit out just enough to push the hose back. It may not last, but peace now reigns as the chef can have her shower.

Thanks to everyone for saving a trip to a motorhome fixer.

To remove the shower corner unit you remove 3 x screws near the bottom of the unit and the shower riser bar (end caps pull off both ends of the bar) and then you can pull off the 2 decorative chrome covers which gives access to another 4 screws.

Great, thanks. I’ll redo the job properly when I get home.

A belated thanks, Boardboi. I finally got around to doing this. As you say, removing the end stops allows the riser bar to be removed. The plugs have a double gasket (O-rings) so need to be tapped out with a hammer. I was surprised to find a huge hole in the shower base behind the corner unit to provide water, hot air, and electrical supplies to the shower unit. If there's a water leak inside the corner unit or, indeed, if shower water gets past the plastic seal around the unit who knows where it ends up.
