Can anyone tell me what the switch labelled Aus and Ein in the fuses compartment is actually for please.

As above, maybe a 12v master switch.
Flick it the other way and check.

Thanks, got the on/off - in/out but feels very lightweight and flymsy to switch all the habitation on/off Does it switch a relay do you know?

Yes it switches a relay on and off.

If the EBL is more than a few years old it's advisable not to use the switch as it is known for going faulty and you turn it off and it won't turn back on. Because it is rarely used the contacts tarnish.
