Not enough
I'm looking to purchase a Hymer B254 2003, does the truma heating work off gas and electric hook-up. Apologies for the newbie question.

Normally gas only the electric is an option but if it was a UK supplied van 99% certain it will be gas & electric. All 3 Hymers we have had have been gas only but I imported them & didn't want electric.

I've got one. It'll heat the water off hook up but you wont get blown air heating.

What is it like consumption wise, how long would x2 13kg bottles last on average?

Tricky one to answer.

I have 2 x 11kg bottles and I'd say for winter with high use I could use 10% of one bottle per night. That's not with the fridge using gas as I am hooked up all the time.

2-3 weeks in winter with high use maybe?

I was looking at a small oil filled radiator for when we are on hook-up

To heat the water on EHU you can retrofit a heating collar around the boiler.

That's what I did on my 2002 Hymer B544.

Yeah go for it. I have a little blow heater I use. I'm not paying the electric so I leave it on most of the time.

We found oil radiator better then the blown air heater. Seems to get Monty warmer e erywhere rather then where the heater is pointed.

As long as a piece of string. for us shoulder season in UK or winter in Spain where we had hot water for showers & some heat in the morning & a bit of heat in the evening and big fridge/freezer running a 14kg bottle lasts us 15 days. Probably a lot less than ½ that for winter in the UK.

My 2001 Hymer B584 has Truma boiler with electric heat collar fitted but only does blown heating on gas.

As an FYI
Our 2018 Hymer (MLT 570) does do blown air heating on both gas and EHU.
That said, when running on gas it's warmer.

The system permits you to select between 100% gas, 50/50% gas/electricity and 100% Electricity
