Fairly new to motorhome started early 2019
Hi, I am totally new to motor homing and just bought this 2007 Gold Edition with 26K miles and in lovely condition. We have not gone anywhere in it yet but just trying to get to know it whilst in the driveway. For some reason the water pump in the fresh water tank was humming away and at the same time some water coming out of one of the pipes by the driver side rear wheel. Has anybody an idea why this happened as I would have expected the water to go into the waste tank? Non of the taps were on or the shower.

Help !?

Hi

It sounds like your frost dump valve is open, you should find it close to where the water is coming out and close to the boiler most likely, it will need a turn or a click or something to close it.

As stated, sounds like the boiler frost dump valve needs resetting by pulling it up (about an inch) when it will click into that position It should be a red coloured knob on the left/front of the boiler.

Thanks I've been and checked and yes that is what is was so thanks for the help.

For the pump to be working (humming) there must have been a tap on as Hymer use microswitch taps. There is a microswitch inside the tap that turns the pump on when you open the tap. A tap can be just open enough to turn the pump on but not enough to let water out.
I suggest you check all your taps and make sure the pump is not running. If the pump runs dry (no water in the tank) it will burn out.

Woofer wills sounds like the previous owner had drained down the system to protect against frosts. It is a standard procedure to dump the water from the boiler and leave the taps very slightly open.
