Hmmmee, I fear the "sanding back" ship may have sailed a while ago. That needs the old decayed wood cutting out and replaced with good quality treated timber and several coats sealant. Use the search button and you will similar projects undertaken by owners with various levels of abilities. Alternatively, the expensive root is to pay for the work to be done. Good luck.

Google would suggest the 1999 Hymer 630 is a single floor, rear lounge model.
This should make the repair much simpler.
I suggest work mainly from the inside, remove the lounge bench seats and furniture. Lift the vynil floor covering to get down to the rotted areas.
Cut away all rotten wood, apply wood hardener to the good/soft wood. I use thinned down resin, best is epoxy but polyester would suffice. Glue/screw in replacement timber, re-lay vynil if OK and re build the lounge. Would take me a couple of months but I am a lazy worker.
