Hello all, our 1999 Hymer 544 front door hinges are stiff to the point of not really hingeing at all and we dont like
to force it in case we damage the actual door. has anyone any ideas as to freeing it or best way to actually take it off
altogether and try and fix. I have given it a good squeeze of grease in the nipple but it still remains stubborn,

many thanks, Dave and Gill, Northumberland

Can you get at the hinges enough to inject some "plus gas" or similar (not WD40 which is a water dispersant and has minimum release properties BTW). leave it for a couple of days then try gentle movements to and fro. Takes patience to do it slowly but essential, as it sounds as if the hinge pins are at least partially seized.

If you have three hinges on the door, I would remove one at a time and get it onto the bench so you can get it moving easily. That is what I did with one of my garage (Moho) doors.
