Hymer 510 starline 2001

Hi my hymer 510 starline 2001 while driving the other day just stopped on the road. the engine just stopped for no reason and had to be towed to a garage. The engine just cut out. The engine was turning over no problem with the battery. It doesnt seem to be anything mechanical more than likely electrical. Any ideas what could cause this, it has a five cyl diesel merc engine with about 150k on it. Anyone experience this with a merc engine.

I don't know why I thought this..but if it's been in storage, check them pesky mice!! Not had a nibble at your cables, your situation just instantly reminded me of what a friend couple years said had happened to them!! Hopefully not

Mine on a Fiat base stopped once and that turned out to be a collapsed fuel filter.

I’d say the solenoid on your diesel pump has died!

When was the last time it had a new fuel filter fitted?

Contaminated fuel ?

If he tank has not been filled since last autumn, then it could be water condensation on the roof of the tank.
I also look at the fuel pump, filter, and fuel lines.
