Hi,
For those that have have levellers I was under the impression it made the van more stable in windy conditions by taking van off springs? However my mate is on a site at the moment and speaking to someone who has them he was told the van is rocky in wind?
I would be interested in opinions from those who have them as looking at getting them fitted.
Thanks in advance.

There is a stabilize setting which deploys the rams to assist the wheels/suspension in windy conditions. All eight surfaces are on the ground and there is very little lift off the ground. The van may not be level. It certainly helps.

With the rams being used to level the van then the higher they go the more flex there is in the ram/chassis system and the more wobble you get in the wind. We love ours!

Hi Mick and Ruth

Hydraulic levellers make the van level that's for sure, they also make it more stable in that you basically don't feel somebody else moving around inside as the hydraulic rams are more rigid "foundation" than springs and tyres, you will still feel high winds though and the affect might be more like buffeting than swaying again due to the more rigid support and don't forget that when up on jacks the centres are not as wide as the wheels are. If it was very windy I might be tempted to sacrifice a bit of level and drop the van down so that some load is shared by the wheels and springs, not done that yet though in 8 years and we have a tall van;)

That's just a lame excuse Lenny you know you want them really;)(y)
It's a jolly good excuse, the air suspension gets us level & I'm not risking life & limb by spending more money on the van.
Still not been forgiven for spending over 7k on the air.
