I have just received a hybrid fridge freezer from Freecycle, the under counter 3 way is a bit small so it's going to be a beer fridge. Until I saw it advertised I didn't know about them, it is a compressor FF on 240 and thermoelectric on 12 volts. Does anyone know if it will be OK running from the leisure battery with 100 watts of solar when not on EHU?

It should state the 12v amps/consumption/watts on the manufacturers plate.

It states 48 watts @12 volts but how long would it run from a battery I assume it doesn't cycle so it will be 48 watts constant drain

The amps it will take is 48 / 12 = 4A. If that is on continuously, ie it doesn't cycle with the thermostat, then its consumption will be 4 x 24 = 96 amp-hours (Ah).

A typical 100W panel will give you about 30Ah on an average day, and 40Ah or more on a good day. It won't get close to keeping the battery topped up with that fridge running. You'd need about 300W to do that.

For a 100Ah leisure battery, it's best to keep the discharge to not more than 50Ah for a flooded battery, and maybe 80Ah for a gel battery, for optimum battery life. so with one battery that's not going to last even a day.

It sounds like the kind of fridge that can be kept cold while driving, and plugged into EHU when on a campsite.

I will have to save it for EHU ☹️
