Got a huawei e585 , I cant remember if I need any software to set it up and how do i get the SIM details?

The password is written on the inside of the battery cover

What sim details do you need?
The phone number will be written on the sim card and the sim card should not normally require a password

I'm assuming you've got a MIFI and with a sim already in it which you can't remember the number for.

First plug the MIFI into your laptop with a lead and it should automatically install the drivers - you don't usually need to get updated ones (even if they existed which they often don't) as even some that are only meant to run on Windows 2000 will run on later version, eg I've got one that supposedly only runs on 2000 or XP and it's running perfectly on my Windows 7 laptop once it had installed the drivers.

As for the sim, once you've got the MIFI working go to the dashboard for it and you should be able to find the number on that. It will depend on what network the sim is on as to which 'address' you need to put into your browser to get to the dashboard, the most common ones are:

192.168.1.1
192.168.8.1
192.168.0.1

Hi, had a hauwei for about 12 months and we had not used it. Got a 3 data sim. A couple of weeks ago while we were away set it plugged it in and nothing, oh b-g--r! Then I remembered I had down loaded an app on to my iPad. One touch and we were up and running. It also told us who was on line.

Is there a SIM that I can get say, loaded with 20gb data, that can be used with no end date. So that the SIM stops when you run out of allowance?

We both have 3 mobile but want a backup just incase

AFAIK the only way to do that would be to have a PAYG one and top it up to give you 20gb of data allowance ... but it WILL cost!
