enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
I've been thinking of ways to tilt solar panels to get max solar gain. Then the simplest of solutions came to me

Removing two wheels from one side and letting one side rest on its axles should work .. depending on which way the moho is facing, you could also remove either the back or front wheels as an alternative ...?????

That's OK for a couple of hours, then you have to put the wheels back, reposition your van and then take the wheels off again. You then need to repeat this every 2 hours until the sun goes down. N
Your battery should be nicely topped up and then you can make a brew with your 12v kettle.

After you've done this you'll need the S-I-L He's N and K Motors, Barnoldswick, Lancs. Specialists in fitting new axles.

You could find a decent 1:4 slope and park sideways if it faces south!

Got to be easier to tow a JCB digger behind your moho and keep re-landscaping your pitch.

wow, some great ideas there ... thanks for your help everyone so far ...

i actually got the idea whilst watching some wild haggis's (or are the hagii ??) foraging for food, since during the lockdown no-one is leaving uneaten picnic lunches in the hills and dales .... they feel like theyve been kicked in the Trossachs

You shouldn't be out and about watching wild haggis foraging, you should be indoors, with the door locked.

And the key thrown away

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

But then the fridge won't work

Numptys, just let the air out of your tyres on the South facing side. ;)

Well Kannon Fodda nearly had it right!
Change the toad for this.

Given it's portability and built in height adjustment it can cope with the changing azimuth and declination of the sun throughout the day.
Other colours are available to colour co-ordinate with the motorhome.

What on earth possessed me to join a club of mad hatters like you lot? ;)

Please keep it up though. Brightened my day(y)

We live close to the Grand Union canal, some of the narrow boats on the cut sorted this problem years ago. Some have tilting mechanisms others have multiple panels fixed at different angles to capture the sun as it moves.
Apologies for the factual reply, it’s not my normal modus operandi, this lockdown is messing with my head.

Yip, seen that also. It's called getting everybody tae the wan side o' the boat!:whistle2:
In nautical terms it's called a list. In Funster terms it's called pist!:clap2::drink:

No need to go to all that trouble, just use a large mirror to reflect some otherwise wasted sunlight. In fact with two mirrors you could solve the shading problem of solar panels when parking under the trees.

Then you could add some cooling water pipes under it for hot water ?
