We’d like to be able to walk around the centre with our dog but all the aires or sites in camper contact are out from the city on tram lines that apparently won’t take big dogs. Taxis apparently won’t either.
One friend suggested staying at the Segorbe aire and taking the 45 min train in. Has anyone done this?
Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.

As I understand no dogs are allowed on public transport.

Yes I believe so
Hence my question of where dog owners park for the night to access the city. Our dog can’t be left at the van.

Depending how big your dog is, some pop them in ruck sacks or doggie carriers if they will fit, ? we have a carrier on our bikes and that solves our problem, but then we wont leave our bikes once into the city, so that's a pain. ?
Valencia is not the easiest city to find your way round, lack of signs so find the tourists information and pick up a map.
The best place to park and walk is in the Bio Park area. ?

Start with this one at the garage, buy some diesel and pay a euro to park only allowed until 2100 hrs, wherever you park arrive early. ? Bob.

The only thing I can suggest is to hire a car. Although I would like to bet that you would be able to get a taxi once there, but not guaranteed of course.

Once there we had no problem with our dog. There is a lovely park to walk through almost the length of the new town to the old town. In fact now I think about it, we took our dog into town on our scooter (10kg dog in a basket/topbox), parked in the new area, met son-in law and got a taxi to the old market hall in the old part of town. Then walked back through the park to where the scooter was left by son-in-laws hotel, having lunch on the way.

This is a bit off the wall, but
What about trying the Park and ride system.

You could drop the passenger and dog off in town and drive 10 minutes to a park and ride. and obviously reverse and the end of the day. Pick one of the larger ones like Valencia Sud with plenty spaces.

Thanks very creative! Husband is disabled and can’t really be left though.

Surprised that no dog owners visit central Valencia. We’ll look for a day time only site in Park4nightmaybe

We too took ours on a scooter which does not help the op. We have used a train in another part of Spain, but the dog had to wear a muzzle.

Happy to use a muzzle.

We do visit Valencia with our dog but she is only 7kg and we cycle in, as in my previous post, you didn't say how big your dog is, but check this site out. ? Bob.

As I said they seem very unfriendly how can only accepting pets less than 15 kg in a cage be considered pet friendly!!!!!
I think the Spanish have a totally different attitude and large dogs are either seen as working or security dogs

Yes but the dog will need one too!!!!!
We have decided after our last trip not to bother with Spain in the MH because of their attitude to dogs we felt like lepers!

Our dog has been in lots of restaurants in Spain, it's at their discretion if they let you in or not, we have been in a few in Portugal, but its illegal so far more difficult. ?
Italy is dog friendly.?
Bob.

Ours is a large dog of around 40 kilos.
Apparently we can just park in the centre and leave the van for a few hours.
