Hi All

I need to replace my leaking sink mixer tap.The pipe go’s to a push fit fitting to the base of a cupboard it’s in a real awkward position I want to know how I go about disconnecting the push fit connector. Auto Cruise Rythmn Compact van conversion.I have been on the Internet and they say push the collar in while pulling the pipe out but that does not seem to work.Enclosed 2 photos.

Pushing the part (see red arrow below) in is how you do it but I suggest disconnect them from the plastic pipes first so you can remove the bit attached to the tap when it is all in you hand.

As you push the collar in push the pipe in as well and wiggle/twist it. Then withdraw the pipe while keeping the collar pushed in.

Where is the tap leaking from

The ceramic disc is leaking I have already replaced it once so I have decided to replace the whole tap as it is 9 year's old.I have now managed to get the connector off but having trouble getting the pipe out as there is another connector behind the sink panelling which I cannot at the moment pull the pipe though a clip the manufacturer fitted around the pipe which is not accessible without cutting a hole in the back wall cabinet.😞😞

Push the pipe and the collar in as far and as hard as you can. Then keep the collar pushed in as you pull the pipe out.

You know there is another clip behind the back wall cabinet so you must obviously be able to see it, is it possible to cut through this clip with a hacksaw blade, blade only with a cloth around the end you are holding or can you not somehow pull/prise the clip off the back wall.

If it's disconnected from the pipe to the tap tails I'd unscrew the tail from the tap take it back the other way with a piece of string attached to pull the new tail back through. If you're keeping the old tails just unscrew the tails and leave them in place.

I've never replaced a tap and maybe I'm being daft but can't you disconnect the pipes at the hex nuts?
(After tying a cord around the pipes to prevent them from disappearing).

It cannot be unscrewed from the tap end has it will twist the flex hose. The problem is the pipes thread though a clip screwed to the back wall behind the cooker and is unaccessible.I have taken a photo from the rear vent at top of the cooker of the clip photo enclosed. As anybody tried to take the cooker out from the cabinet by undoing the 4 screws at the front Of the cooker. The clip is behind the waste from the sink.

Cut the flexible pipes, assuming new ones come with the new tap.

You could add new clips somewhere accessible or just zip tie them to something - but I'm not sure you will need to.
