Getting Better
I wonder if problems stem from machine washing with powder / fabric conditioner. @Smith and Sharp 's post set me thinking. I have only ever washed mine in clean water in a sink.

Have you ever googled fabric conditioner...? In fact try washing powder too  it's terrible stuff, conditioner is full of chemicals and pigs fat, make your towels soft but won't soak up to dry...
I don't let mrs do my towels in it whereas she likes all the smells she can get....:cautious:

No wonder we now have to buy those expensive washing machine cleaners, :(

I know what you mean Joy - like what eg the awful noise of fingernails - or shiny chalk - scraping across a blackboard do to my nervous system and yep - my toes too! - urrgghh.

I am totally amazed that none of you people seem to have an integral drying rail in your moho shower compartment - which comes as standard in our Pilote of course.

(Having said that, I still think it's brilliant and no we didn't have one in the Bessie, so we really do appreciate it's usefulness)

And in Skeggie, should the weather be particularly inclement - one could simply nip round to see one's sister in law - and use her TD! LOL

Mine dried in minutes when the OH breathed on it after she'd got her breath back from making the toast for breakfast.
I do miss her as I hate using a damp towel.

We hang ours out on the fantastic sun drenched beaches at Skegness, where the gentle balmy breeze has them dry in a trice. (y)

Where do you have to go to pick them back up from, Mablethorpe,or Sutton on Sea

We still use terry towels andhave a conventional towel rail in the shower which is big enough to take 2 bath towels and because it is 1" in diameter the two hanging sides are separated.

If weather is good the towels dry on the wing mirrors. Alternative is on the rail in the shower when on the move with the back edge of the skylight tipped up - not much drag, but ensures airflow.

I am surprised in 4 pages nobody mentioned keeping the skylight window open.

Drying towels on the move can be a problem.
We hang ours from the ceiling of our shower room, using trouser hangers which hang from self adhesive cable ties.
There's room for air to circulate between the towels and they dry quickly, without going fusty.

There is a hanging rail in our shower roof vent, but using it prevented us closing the mosquito blind.
Good idea.👍

A few years now
If drying large towels may be a problem then use a dry small flannel after showering to remove most of the water followed by a bath towel which then gets a lot less damp as easier to deal with soggy flannels. We have an airer when using our pop up Hub but when staying contained or on the move we use these which work a treat:

Just put them on the dash, as you drive they dry, or the sun drys them.

Thanks interesting, I don't remember reading anything to that effect with the Decathlon's. Anyone with Decathlon versions something to add?
Have used the Decathlon towels for years. Bought for motorhome but also use at home. Never noticed ant strange smells.
