Have a 85cm Satilite on my MH. Also fitted to the satilite is a box supplied by Jackson’s Satilites called “Icecript” which hooks on to the satilite called Interstate 907.

I am sure I used to get ES with my Sky card slotted in to the Icecript box. It looks like I am getting a strong signal for ES but when I try to connect it states scrammed.

Any ideas please.

I took the other route, a Eurosport internet subscription. Of course you need decent internet but it does work and can be had on a monthly basis.

So do you watch on a laptop/tablet?

If you have an Amazon Prime account, they are offering Eurosport for a penny a month for 6 months at the moment, though you need to remember to cancel it at that point because it becomes more expensive than subscribing through Eurosport direct.

For the OP, there is a free German version of Eurosport 1 on Astra 19.2E. No English commentary but should work all over Europe on a relatively small dish. Unfortunately I don't know whether a Sky card works in an Icecrypt box but I would doubt it.

If you’ve got your sky box with you try that on Astra2 we get most channels except BBC & ITV.(y)(y)(y)

The only way you will get Eurosport in English is with a valid SKY subscription card and Reciever as far as I’m aware

NeilS have you tried this , or has anybody else tried this?

We like Eurosport while watching the TDF on a mountain in France so that we can see them coming and when they have passed watch the finish. Colyboy

colyboy I use Sky with a valid viewing card and I'm pretty sure there is no other way to receive Eurosport UK you can however get it for free if you on Astra 1 @ 19.2 but the commentary is in German .
You would only need to retune your Oyster and use a free to air satellite receiver .
p.s we met briefly at the summit of Col du Vars back in 2017 during the TDF you may not remember
A photo of your van I believe and my Union Jack above my van in the background

I think I will try it out at home before the TDF. in fact we are off to Ypres in March and watching three races in Belguim so will try it over there.

Sorry can’t remember meeting you on Var.

Attached is another photo taken on Var, several “funsters” saw the flag on TV.

Will you be at this years TDF ? we are planning to see the race in the Pyrenees .

almost the same photo as you took.

Following this with interest - in our previous van, we had a sat dome and sky box. We used our card from home and watched live cycling on Eurosport and ITV4 as well as our usual sky channels (but not premium channels).

We swapped our van just before Christmas and decided to hold off on the satellite option to see how we get on with streaming internet using wifi and data on mobile - we may yet go down the mifi route. We have the Sky Go App and can get Eurosport 1 and 2 and ITV4 but we have not tested this out yet. We are also not sure how much data this could chew up.

Sky Go is currently available to use in EU but not sure if any of the B****t shenanigans will change things.

You lot are quick! You snook in a couple of posts while I was typing!

@colyboy - we are going to test things out in March too - maybe a stage or two of the Paris - Nice and possibly the Milan - San Remo.

If the B****t fiasco is sorted, and there are no changes to the pet travel requirements, we may stay out longer and could swing by the Tour of Catalunya and then head north for a couple of spring classics - otherwise we are back at the end of March.

Yes, currently watching the Australian Open tennis on Eurosport 1 with German commentary in the UK for free, as I am too much of a cheapskate to pay for a TV subscription.

We often watch cycling on various European channels for free (when not on UK terrestrial TV) -- motorised dish that can point at multiple satellites.
