Does anybody know the best way to find out what your van is worth?
The online surveys don't get back to me. Would just like to get a sense of the likely market value.

The only way is to look at advertised prices online for your model and spec (if possible) and then you will have an idea of about £3k less as a bottom value. It is very hard to get accurate information and if you have something that isn't very common, then it is "wet finger in the air" time......

Alternatively look at the new price, knock off 20% and then guess at 5% per year. But it is all a guess. It is only worth what someone will pay for it

The only way i judge it is to find as many similar vans of the same age that are listed for sale..
So type in your model and year and see what comes up...

Ref a newish vehicle, I am with @DuxDeluxe .. If I see something just a few years old i find the retail price and take off 20% for the first year then 5% for every year after but thats how i calculate what i would want to pay.. I have seen some models of a van the same as what i sold 5 years ago and people are still asking the same money. Selling within the first few years is where the biggest hit is taken but not as bad as cars.

On autotrader where do we find the motorhome section? It seems to be all car or van on the app with Huber not appearing in the drop down menu.

I think you need to look at a more common model the closest to yours and then decide if you think its worth more or just sell for the same money but may sell quicker as it has extras etc.

Might be worth calling a couple of dealers for a trade in value.

I wouldn't fret about yours being a limited edition oits not thay scientific look at yours find something that you think will appeal to similar buyers and guess a figure

What is your opinion on part exchange if we find one we like in a dealership?

When searching eBay for prices look for 'completed listings' that way you get a feel for actual sale/sold prices rather than aspirational ones so many sellers start with.

The other thing you really have to be honest with yourself about when valuing is the condition.

Don't try and value it as mint/excellent condition if it obviously isn't. You'll just be wasting everyone's time including your own.

Conversely if it's in obvious better condition than the ones you find to compare it to don't be scared to put a higher value on it.

List it on ebay , WITH a undisclosed RESERVE of say £100,000 just to be safe !
You will soon see what its worth , if you dont sell its very cheap .

Worth shopping around but at the end of the day it is the cost to change and whether it is worth it for you.

A low px value might be offset by a stonking discount on sticker price, or a great trade in ruined by lack of discount

If it's rare dealers are going to say'oh not much call for these' and really try to give you a knock down price.
As mentioned look on auto trader floor a similar van and go from there.

Better to do mock sale on eBay before autotrader listing then.
Is Ebay better than gumtree do you think?

I don't think the ebay thing will work you will just get dreamers trying a silly price but I couls be wrong. In my experience trade in with a dealer will get you at least 10% less than you will get from a private sale possibly a lot more yoiu couls take it to get a bottom line figure so if you are offeredd more privately you know where you stand. How long have you had the van if not very long that must give you an idea.

MMM has a regular page of second hand prices, for different layouts of coachbuilts and PVCs. This seems to be based on current dealer asking prices. You could try a recent MMM back issue that shows such prices for your MH layout. My impression is that the layout categories are repeated about every 6 months. The September 2017 issue shows secondhand prices of twin lounge coachbuilts.

Private asking prices should be lower.

Have you looked on the German site for selling as well?
When I was looking it gave me an idea of prices all be it they were left hand drive.
Values are seasonal as well but if you buy and sell at the same time it balances out.
