Excluding full timers how much time do you spend away in the van? It’s an expensive luxury to have sitting unused, so far this year we have spent 221 nights away in ours, this included two 3 monthers away in Spain. Last year we managed a year total of 242.

We are fortunate, being retired.

This year, so far, we have used the motorhome for 163 nights. It would have been more except for family illness which has kept us close to home for the last couple of months.

Most years we achieve 200 to 220 nights.

Since last November we have travelled over 12000 miles with another trip of approaching 1000 miles planned for a couple of weeks time.

We are retired and health permitting we try for a three month break in the Spring with another three months in the Autumn.

So around 180 days a year. (y)

Hardly use it in the UK. Too much traffic and too expensive here.

Well @Stewart J I think you are getting your moneys worth out of your van, we don't keep an accurate count on night numbers but it has been over 6 months in the past but recently family issues have meant no long trips this year, but still lots of shorter trips. But you are right they are too expensive to decorate the drive wish at home.

I have a plane that cost as much as the Moho, and needs to used regularly for similar reasons. To increase Moho utilisation I’d have to build a trailer and tow the plane around. That would be a 15-metre long combo. :)

20-25 nights, max was 29 nights in one year. Mainly long weekends

We try to get away every other week for 4 nights (football dependant) then a 3 week in the uk and 3 months in Spain(y)

About 130 plus odd days here and there.
Had our first 4 monther this year after 3 months last year. Toying with 5 months next year, it just gets better and better.
The turning point was "Trusted House Sitters" who will look after your home for as long as needs be.

I also have the same and really need to drop the plane, the fun was swamped by the cost and agro a long time ago, Too many hands in my pocket. Just owning it costs and not using it enough makes the cost per hour go through the roof.

95. Not sure with other enjoyable commitments that we would like to many more. Grandkids, golf, gardening and catching up with friends.

Over 50 nights but we both still work (y)

To date this year, 214 nights. Portugal, Spain and France at the start of the year. 4mths in the Isle of Man through the summer and 2 weeks in Somerset and South Wales touring.
During that time, problems we've had.
Water heater sprung a leak. I bypassed it until we got home. Where I stripped it and found two pinholes in the tank. A bit of welding sorted that.
Fridge stopped working in Spain. Had to remove it, turned it upside down and back, refitted it and it's worked fine ever since.
Other than that I can't remember any other problems. Happy days.
Already planning for next year.

Don't get it, never did, when I had a narrow boat I saw boats moored and unattended in marinas for months on end. Some folk must have money to burn.

So far this year we have done 99 nights but are away tomorrow
last year we managed 129 on our first year of being motorhomers

the thing holding us back - - the root of all evil MONEY or rather lack of it

NExt year I actually get my pension even though I have not worked since 2010 due to illness - this year has been the hardest for us

Not a single night since June.

But to be fair we did sell it in July

This year an all time low of 20. Caused by major issues with MIL and my mobility issues caused by a knee problem.
Hopefully next year will be better, it certainly can’t be worse., having knee surgery next week to try and fix knee, let’s hope it works.

31 days in January (France and Spain). April/May Netherlands via France and Belgium 21 days. June Wirral, Chester, Liverpool, Southport, and Bolton 14 days. Quick week to Bury and Derbyshire, and Rutland Water in September. 73 days.
Hope to do more in 2019 now that I have retired.

I still work, so a maximum of about 40 nights a year. This consists of a main holiday of about 12 nights, another week away and half a dozen or so three night weekends.

Only managed 117 so far this year, more planned for next year !

About 150 nights of which 139 were flt's with the other 11 being 2 x private aire in France & 9 on a cheapskates site near Brighton:LOL:
Apart from that the van is actually used normally every day when back here.(y)
