After leaving the MH on hookup with a heater to stop frost damage and taking the peg off the boiler dump valve I set off.

Pulled in to fill up just after leaving - fresh water leaking all over the forecourt ...dump valve !

Couldn't easily refit the peg as the garage was full but I managed

Got to the ferry port - no hab electrics

I hadn't checked before I left and probably finished off the battery by leaving it on hookup

The ferry to Bilbao was uneventfull

Set off to Soria in Spain, sun, rain, hail and sun again.

Got there, got lost, through the town centre, a few times, parked up and waited for 15.30 when Spain starts work again

Filled up with fuel at a Cepsa and bought 2 bottles of Rioja for 7 euros (y)

15.30 the only battery they had was a 90AH 'ordinary battery'

Sod it it will do - they laughed telling me it had a 5 year guarantee

Went to Lydl down the road to shop - watched as a nasty homeless person spat in an old guy's face because he didn't give him anything

Anyway I ended the day at a lovely Aire, fitted the new battery, everything works and I am enjoying the Rioja

....thought there was a toothbrush and toothpaste on board....
wrong!

Planning?.....

Oh and I got flagged down by a speed cop, sat there waiting for a ticket, he pulled another car then waived me on.....result !!

That's why I don't believe in God !

Anyway Barclays are only promoting 'Life Skills'...

Not 'Afterlife skills'....

At least you unhooked the hook up cable before you set off which is something that I forgot to do a couple of years ago. Soon found out that Spain was more than 25 m away.

I did that years ago....left a 'live' cable on the street !

Don't know but couldn't think of any other reason...

Reminds me of the time we were off to the Malvern motorhome show back in 2007 and stopped on the way at Matalan as I've forgotten to pack any underwear! :D

We got all the way to Agde in one day and that night my wife told me we had to find a decent sized supermarket since she had no knickers. The naturist campsite had shut the same day!

@Minxy Girl We went to Brighton for a Bank Holiday...as we were about to walk from the site to the Marina I realised I didn't bring any coats ...so had to wear one of my wife's many spares all week end ....had to breathe in and keep hands in pockets so as not to show the sleeves were about 9 inches short..

I'm in Medinaceli - plenty of space only 5 vans here. 2 German vans just left in convoy 1 with an A frame !! - in Spain??

I forgot - at Portsmouth got checked over - nice lady looked in the garage - "Is that a sofa?" she asked...

"Yes and 2 armchairs" - no problem:cheers:

We keep duplicate of everything in the MH bathroom cupboard - saves straining the memory.

Don't you just hate it when a woman says 'I told you so'.

last may, waiting in the eurotunnel car park for our time slot.Thought we'd do a quick check of the essentials including the paperwork.
No passports !
You can do every check imaginable but still be let down by the obvious.
Luckily son in law (the favorite one) ferried them up from weston while we sorted out the misadventure with eurotunnel.
They didn't show much surprise and had us on the next train as soon as we had them in our possession.:D

Well I have known some girls who have 'forgotten', either on the way out for the evening, or on the way home - sometimes both.

Oi ... it was a case of either buy some new ones, do without, or wear hubby's y-fronts ... in the big scheme of things option 1 was the most sensible (y) closely followed by option 2 :X3: ... no 3 never ever got serious consideration!

Oooo ... just remembered something else ... I left hubby to do some sorting of paperwork etc out for the camper for one of our foreign forays and found out as we arrived at Folkestone that we didn't have the ruddy original V5C etc ... fortunately as I keep digital images of them on a USB stick which I always keep in my handbag on holiday the ladies at the ET desk were able to print copies off for us so at least we had something to show should the need arise.

Why do you think you finished of your battery by leaving it on hook up

It depends upon the charger fitted, 12V lead-acid batteries liked to be stored for long periods at 13.2V or completely disconnected, e.g: with a nice big 100A £5 switch.

Else what happens is a small current runs through 24/7 with no where to go, and just like on a boat without an anode, this current will find something to do, which is corrode / eat away one side of the plates.

Again gang, who believes anybody from E Yorks electing to spend money over doing without!
@Minxy Girl I'd stop digging now (btw)!:giggle:

As for the 'hole' ... don't stop digging ... keep going (y) ... that way when I kill you I can just plop you in the hole and cover you up! :sneaky:
