How much data would you use listening to radio on the internet ? I have also been using Google maps as sat nav but I believe that uses very little data.
I have looked on my phone but can't see a daily usage.
Thanks in advance

Depends on the quality of the stream but not a lot.

  • 64 kbps = 28.8 MB per hour
  • 128 kbps = 57.6 MB per hour
  • 256 kbps = 115.2 MB per hour
  • 320 kbps = 144 MB per hour

A few radio stations now provide hi-fi streams in FLAC or ALAC formats, e.g Radio Paradise. These streams are data hungry, probably about 3 times more than a 320 kbps stream and probably best avoided if you have a limited data plan.
