Your panel has to output more volts than your battery to charge.
A pwm controller will not use the full potential of the panel.
An mppt controller will take the extra volts and up the amps. They can even work better in cloudy days
My panel is rated at 255watt at 37volts 8amps ish.
I’ve seen way more than 12amps from mine.
What he's saying is the mppt controller is using the extra volts (say the 13v to 19v portion) to make extra Watts. As voltage x amps = wattsI'm displaying watts not volts.
