I thought I would let you good folks on here settle this one. After being told no stress or arguments due to recent stroke my dearly beloved and i are now in a full scale battle over this question due to the fact you are allowed to drive one month after a small stroke, I asked my Dr who said 1 month but inform DVLA who also said 1 month and you didn't need to tell us.

Now back to the row:devil: I say 1 month is 28 days 4 weeks etc wife I googled 1 month which came back sa 30.4 days:heartbreak: my friends view is stroke was 7th of April start driving 7th of May I am adamant i am going to drive after the 28 day period as I am going stir crazy having a camper parked in the drive I have been unable to use yet other than sit inside and play with everything :D

1 month is 1/12 of a year. so 52/12 = 4.33 weeks = 30.33 days. Your wife gets the cigar

4 weeks would only be 48 weeks to a year.

Anyway, most months have 31 or 30 days. Another gigar for Mrs Romany

I would use a calender month to be safe.

If you prang it in those couple of days & insurance don't pay out you might have another stroke.

You should have had your stroke in February :)(y)

This thread reminds me of a thick tenant we had who asked to go from weekly rent payments to monthly, then reported me to the council when the amount was higher than 4 weeks o_O

Got this definition online from a legal dictionary.

Calendar Month Definition:
A period from a specified day in one month to the day numerically corresponding to that day in the following month, less one.

Life would be so much easier if we had 13 months a year, all 28 days. How about Funuary?

I’d say a month is a calendar month but I’m glad you’re well enough to get back to driving. A couple of days more wont hurt when you think what the alternative could have been.

The thing that it's going to affect is your insurance so it's from the date you had your stroke to the same date the following month minus a day, so like your friend said. If your stroke was on the 5th, you'd be covered the following month on the 5th.

That seems perfectly sensible to me.
I have had two cataract operations this year and have not been able to have an eye test until six weeks after the second operation - that's when it was done and correct vision glasses two days later.
A total of three months without being able to drive nearly drove me balmy but patience is a virtue and I'd suggest you are patient as well - you know it makes sense ....

prescription pills 28 a month

If you get prescription drugs you only get 28 days

Not here. they are in 28's, 30's 20's etc;etc; additionally you also can only get them when the time is up +/- 1 week .so in my case I have some that are available for repeat one week & others that can only be picked up the week after. It is only rarely that all coincide.

One of the reasons given for the 28 day packs was compliance but to be honest how many of us bother to check that we are taking the correct day each morning. In fact I’m sure it was a devious money making exercise on the part of the drug companies to give us less tablets. I’m on two regular tablets, one is in 28 day packs nicely labelled with the day of week. The other comes in 30 day packs and ironically that’s the one that has the critical bioavailability, bonkers.
If your surgery has System One and you order your medication online you will be able to order your next months worth after 3 weeks and 1 day should you want to start building up supplies for your next jaunt. Not that I’ve told you that of course!
