12 years, autocruise stargazer. Reg. 2005 so bought used and have had no major issues. This year replaced brake discs and had cambt changed for second time. Used for most of the year touring Britain and France. Love it to bits. No plans of changing to a newer model especially afterokking at the quality now available at recent motorhome shows... No I will keep my old reliable well made van.
Interesting, mines an original Autocruise also, and in 100k miles I've only had normal maintenance, build quality has been exceptional.. Wouldn't change it even if I could afford it, which I can't.

The current one is three years old now and done 42k as it's our everyday vehicle as well. During the past 15yrs I've only converted on new vehicles. Holidays in the UK and Europe totalling between 90 & 100 nights per year.

Keep pondering a bigger vehicle but it hasn't happened yet.

Had a few before as below.

Newbie April 2019
Bought our first proper MH in April after using our faithful Vivaro for a few years. Buyers collecting that Monday

Not sure if done the right thing yet as both been too busy with work and courses to do more than 500 miles this year. ?

Will be finishing upgrades and improvements over winter with a goal of getting of away more next year. Hopefully start with the NC500 in May and would like to try France or further at some point

I changed the cambelt at the recommended intervals, not sure if it was really necessary but mainly for peace of mind as I tour France for several months each year. The rear brake pads were worn so I hade the discs replaced as well. Other than that my normal yearly servicing costs around £130.inc mot. Been a great van with a quality build..

You will love France with is unpopulated roads, great places to stop at. However enjoy the nc500 then defo go to France, you will probably be hooked within a day or two.

We’ve had our Hymer B584 for 10 years, bought when it was 8 years old with 22,500 miles and now done 77,000 miles. No plan to change, would know what to change to if we did.

Our Talbot Express was 16 years old when we bought it 9 years ago, so come January it will be 26 years old. It has taken us all over the UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany and Northern Spain with no major problems. It is serviced regularly by an excellent mechanic. We have no plans to change it.

Bad news for MH dealers:

Owned previous T4 California for 10 years. Would have kept it as a day van if I could afford a 2nd van.

Current Rapido PVC bought new is now 2 years 6 months old. Might spend a little on accessories, but see no good reason to spend a small fortune to swap it for something newer or bigger.

Before that we'd just hired twice for an additional 5 weeks of experience. So before buying our own vehicle we'd done the parking at 15 deg & having to hold bowls & cups still at meal times mistake + covered our selves with black water when using a hose to clean up after emptying...

Owned ours since September 2017, first Motorhome and brand new at the time. Frustrated by multiple component failures requiring warranty work, so it owes us a period of stress-free use now. No plans to swap, couldn’t justify the expense.
Travelled exclusively in mainland Britain but recent loss of very old dog and upcoming retirement for one of us will allow us to go to Europe in 2020.

Bought our first, a Laika new in 1999 and kept it 4 years.
This was part ex-ed for the second one, a Frankia, again new which we had for 13 years.
Third one was again a part-ex only this time it wasn't new. It was a Dethleffs with 4500 miles on the clock but it was like new with the oven trays still in their original wrappers. This will probably be our last one due to age (ours, not the vans).

I'm new to it
Very new to the whole thing, we have only had ours 5 months but absolutely love it and wonder why it took us so long to move over to one from camping. So far we have visited France & Spain for 3 weeks in summer and weekends away when time allows (we care for my mother) Already planning our 2020 trip to Holland,Germany, Austria and France. The MH is 11 years old and we will keep until we retire which is some time away and take it from there. Unusually from what we have read on here we have made a pretty good first choice as we are over the moon with it apart from the multiple cracks in the over-cab sun roof inner perspex. I just wish we had more time to go away in it and hone my FLT skills ;)

We bought a Frankia i650SD in April 2014, and it really changed our lives. It was, in many ways perfect for us but we are now more confident and adventurous, have more time on our hands, and wanted something more manoeuvrable. So 'Frank' was sold three months ago and we are now waiting for our Murvi Morocco to be built.

That will be it - until we can no longer drive - Honest!

Swift Bolero a few months over 10 years, bought it 2 years old, hardly used. Done 110,000 miles with just normal wear and tear maintenance all over Western Europe and Morocco - looking to try some Eastern Europe in the future. No, tell a lie, had the typical Fiat misfire problem, cured by Fiat Professional dealer (funny you never hear about that any more).

Although we sometimes look at shows etc. only ever found one we might have exchanged it for until we found the bed wasn't suitable. We currently are more than happy so unless it falls to pieces we'll be keeping it for a while yet.

A couple of VW Type 2's over a 15 year period.
Autohomes Camelot, 10 years (nice van but uphill job keeping Fiat rust-worm at bay).
New Hymer B544 imported from Germany, 10 years (lovely van but I needed more payload to carry scooter).
Currently, Carthago on heavy chassis (secondhand) 8 years to date - should last me out, haha !!!

Total outlay over 43 years, £105k or approx £2.5k/year - less, say £35k when I sell the Carthago, win, win (predicted overall cost £1.5k/year) :ROFLMAO:

1st Euramobil ex demonstrator 5.5 years 2nd new Burstner Solano 5years 3rd. 6yr old Bessacarr E745 18 months half decent build quality above the floor but when floor was rotten not much use and later repaired by that firm called Swift had no confidence with their bodged repairs. So went back to German van which is Burstner Delfin t821 now nearly 13 years old. We have owned 5 years just flown through MOT has only 37000 on clock.
Not sure what will happen next August when I reach 73 as it is 4500kg and I need to keep C1 . When I was 70 DVLA made me have exercise ECG and I struggled but managed it. Left knee and hip not as good nowadays so not sure whether i will be able to go through it again
