Not long enough!
If just for a weekend we usually just get in and drive, plenty of lovely places not to far away, but any long breaks tend to end up following the coast somewhere or tother, done the West coast of Scotland three times(y) there is just so much to see:D

We rally locally with the CC centres, C & CC DA's and the Motorcaravan Section - it has got us to some places we wouldn't have normally gone. We get abroad as often as we can - just choose an area depending how long we've got and if we are looking for some sun. We're going over for 4 nights over Easter and haven't decided yet whether to head for Arromanche/Bayeux or to go over to Holland, we'll probably decide on the train going over.

As it says really.

Now we are retired :) we plan to make trips that are associated with our hobbies..... so model engineering shows, craft shows, trips to places where there are specialist shops.

Why rush there and back in a day when you can make a mini-holiday and explore?

The reference to model engineering caught my eye...and while not wanting to take your thread off topic I was wondering the other night whether there might be interest in a workshop group to chat about projects etc..
Have a little workshop (photo attached if it works) that has sadly been underused for the last few years.

Swap the hardware for sewing machines and it could be our second bedroom Jill's sewing room - except she has more machines

We usually head somewhere South for the sun and always stay away from busy crowded places and somewhere beautiful and quiet so we can get our kit off and "bask"..

It's a Chinese job. Made by sieg from arc euro trade.its the x3. Only problem is can't get the speed slow enough for large diamond cutters with the present gearing. Other than that ok for the money.

This is why we want a MH, winter holidays 2 weeks somewhere warm, and back home, spring time rented cottages through out the UK, outer Hebrides to Cornwall and Devon, west and east UK, and like you good people we like walking but also visiting places of interest, only trouble is having hired the place for a week after 4 days want to move on, so have MH will travel, also when at home travel somewhere then travel back, we want to travel somewhere then move onto the next place, and the next etc etc

As I did dispatch work for a long while there are not that many places in the UK I have not seen.. On the other side poor Maureen has hardly travelled at all, so many destinations are governed by things she has not seen..

Sadly as Woman has absolutely no patience for the interweb it is up to me to sort out things I believe she would like.. I then present the options and see if I get a nibble on the hook !

I envisage myself doing a lot more with my ham radio set up and perhaps astrology ,maybe a half desent telescope and do a bit of star gazing , I have a quad copter that I mess around with , things like fossil hunting and geology appeal too , my other half "Kesriel" would like to pursue a bit of creative writing , she has a passion for English literature .
