My Hymer B544 needs new tyres, but whilst looking for new tyres online, I see load ratings differ from around 109 up to 121. Does it matter if I go for the highest load rating 119/121 ?

My van weighs in at 4250kg, being on the Fiat Maxi chassis, with 225/75/r16 tyres.

You need to know your max permtted axle weights.
Perhaps your rear is 2400kg, you would need a tyre capable of supporting 2400/2 so 1200kg.
116 rating is 1250kg per tyre, so 2500kg per axle.

This shows the load ratings , you might decide to go higher if you intend to uprate an axle later.

I don't think so but you may find that they have stiffer side walls which may give a harsher ride.

This pretty much sums it up other than it doesnt hurt to go to a higher load rating tyre to give you a bigger safety margin , with the ability to run at a lower pressure for a given load . You cannot really get too high a load rating for a given size , as size needs to increase to go above so called XL or reinforced levels in the nominal size fitted to your vehicle .

Beware of getting tyres only marginally over the Max Load of the axle.

Remember that when you are dropping off those 'Sleeping Policemen' in France, (other countries are available) there will be a temporary increase in the load imparted.
