As per the question, if we don’t intend to drive anywhere near Paris (ferry to Roscoff then down to the South through the centre of the country) do I need to apply for a Crit’Air sticker? Any advice from experienced funsters much appreciated.

More than Paris is covered..
You may have no plans to drive through these places BUT what if you make a wrong turn or there is a major accident and a diversion..
For the few Euros i went for it "just in case"..
ps.. If you do apply make sure you get the official site, lots of scam websites with inflated prices (y)

we have one on the basis of 'showing compliance' - if ever stopped for some reason then it shows we are trying to comply with their legislation - my thoughts are also that if you change your plans and do meander into a zone, then we have it, so one less thing to worry about when travelling (especially if diverted for some reason) - for the cost of it and ten minutes spent filling in the form on line, then to me its worth it.

on the other hand, i have never heard of anyone in a motorhome being stopped/fined for not having one (and no we dont have angles mortes stickers or breathalysers !)

France is such a big country you should never need to be in the cities. But for peace of mind and for what it costs why not have it.

How do I find out what classification my Arto is? 2005 diesel
I don't think you need to find it yourself. They will probably ask for a copy of your vehicule details or an MOT details ...or both.

its easy to follow the instructions on line, the hardest part was making sure i only uploaded the correct size photo (in terms of file size) of the photo

It does it for you when you put your details into there website. We don’t intend going into big cities but got one just in case. For what it costs it’s a no brainer.

For what it costs, a good "just in case" option. I ended up having to walk half way across Aachen in Germany to buy the German equivalent having ended up in the city without one and hearing tales of sudden police raids and €60 euro fines.

I'd do this. On a previous trip I ended up on the edges of a city I had absolutely NO plans to visit, due to making a wrong turn and not having the option to stop and sort things out for ages.

Just driven around Poitiers and the signs are on the roadside in case a temporary order is used.

What do the signs look like

A. When no restrictions in force

B. What will they look like when restrictions are in force.

C. Are the signs in standard format - or does each Maire scribble his own design on the back of a fag packet?

When up loading photos, take photos then screenshot the photo. Much smaller size then.

Have just lost qn hour of my life trying to get a crit air for our present motorhome. Have done it for previous with no problems. At end of the registration it comes up with inclusion of retrofits with red exclamation.
The vehicle has no retrofits, have certificates of conformity for both Laika and Fiat but cant get beyond the first page, frustrated is not the word.
now to try to get the de for Germany 😂😱
