I changed my O2 sim to an esim and bought an unlimited Lebara sim to use in my dual sim IPhone . I’ve set data to default to Lebara sim ….
BUT when I logon to the phone as a hotspot it seems I’m using data off my o2 sim

Has anyone done this with any more luck than me please

I believe most phones are not 'dual sim' as in they can use both at the same time. They only have the capability of using one sim. Generally the one nominated as number 1. I had exactly the same problem. I had to switch the number 1 sim off while I used the 2nd and switch it back on for calls and sms when I'd finished using the internet.

Sorry, not the info you wanted to hear.

On my android you set which sim you want to use for data and which you want to use for calls. You can choose either, one for data and calls, or one for one thing and one for the other. Any combination you fancy.. This is with 2 physical sims in it. Not sure how esims work.

Is it a tethering problem or a data access problem? Switch off O2 & try and access the internet on your phone through Lebarra, then you will know if it’s a problem tethering?

Its just an auto problem, I use 2 all the time, 3 actually with the esim option.
Go to the lebara sim and choose "use for data"
go to 02 an dchoose use for calls

failing that switch off 02 sim then restart swithc back on

Thanks Tombola .
With both sims turned on, and wifi off, I use data off the second sim (Lebara) which is correct
BUT the hotspot uses the data from the esim

Then if I turn off the esim , the Lebara won’t make a hotspot
So I suspect it’s a Lebara issue but they say not do I’m going round in circles

If the Mobile Data Settings are all correct for Lebara I don’t know how data is going the wrong route 🤔
Info I once got from Lebara about the related settings: -
1. Select "Settings"

2. Select "Mobile Data" and "Mobile Data Network"

3. Scroll to "MOBILE DATA"

4. Select "APN" and enter uk.lebara.mobi

5. Scroll to "MMS"

6. Select "APN" and enter uk.lebara.mobi

7. MMSC: http://mms.lebara.co.uk/servlets/mms

9. Enter 212.183.137.12:8799

10. Your phone has been configured

11. Note: Switch the phone off and on again

🤔not sure where step 8 went. But the info is on Lebara’s site 😜
