I'm a newbie of 5 years! ie - I don't get out enough...
Hi folks!
First time post here, so please be gentle....
I have a Bessecarr E789 motorhome, absolute joy in everyway except for an issue that has materialised this year. Basically, none of the hot water taps work (including the shower). Normally when you open the taps, you can hear the pump kick in and the water comes on as expected. This is still the case, except when I open a hot tap. Nothing! Pump doesnt start nothing happens.
I know its not the pump as the cold still works. Im assuming because none of the hot taps work it cant be a micro switch issue. (Not even sure if this van has microswitched taps tbh)
Secondly, when I switch the power on for the water via the overhead control panel, normally I'd hear the pump kick in straight away topping up the hot water tank. Nothing!
But just to add further to my misery, the cold tap in the kitchen area doesnt work either - basically Nothing. Again, this would suggest the cold tap in the kitchen must run off the hot water circuit (???)
Pulling my hair out, anyone else had this issue?

Any help would be gratefully received!

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave

Open a hot tap and then slightly open a cold one that works but at another place, see if water comes out of the hot tap.

Slight variation on Funflair’s suggestion. Open the hot tap over the sink, turn on the cold in the bathroom full power then place your finger over the tap outlet stopping the flow so full pressure from the pump is available to all the plumbing system. Alternative thought is that the non-return valves have stuck through lack of use.
Peter.

I think we’d need a bit more info about your system. Is it a pressurised system with something like a Shureflow pump? What sort of water heating system is it? Whale? Truma? What’s the water level in the tank, etc.

Sounds like a big old air lock to me. Another thing to check would be to open the frost/drain valve on your boiler just to make sure the fill water is actually getting that far ?

Check the frost valve. Is water leaking under the van when run the hot taps?
