Hi All.
All being well we are hoping to to do a couple of weeks in Switzerland and then 4 weeks in Northern Italy in September/October this year.

We did a backpacking trip round Venice, Verona and Garda years ago so dont intend re visiting those areas and we dont intend going any further south than Seina.

We are reasonably fit and cycle a couple of times a week for 30 ish miles, in your experience would it be worth taking cycles?

Thanks

Paul

What have you got to lose by taking them? If you have them you can use if the mood takes you .. if you don't take them then you have no choice. Life is a series of choices .. the more you have, the better.

Yes
if you don’t take them you will probably regret it
Europeans have far better cycle networks than UK
i am not the keenest cyclist but do enjoy getting out for a ride

Certainly take them. Italy is a cycling paradise. Switzerland is extremely bike friendly and has a fantastic cycling network. I have mine out here now. There is also a great electric bike charging grids if you have one of those contraptions. I regularly cycle through the mountains in SW Switzerland in the Vaud and Valais alps
