Hello and welcome to Motorhome Fun.
It will help enormously if you can provide the make, model, age and type of vehicle that they are fitted to.

Hi and welcome. Switch one appears to switch between vehicle and habitation battery. Switch two is possibly water level. Hope this helps. I would suggest that the volt meter has a dual purpose.

No 1.....battery select....hab or cab.
Pressing up or down will show your battery voltage on the meter next to it.

No2.....pressing the switch will show your fresh water level on the meter next to it.....unreliable.

No3 .....as you know, water pump.

No4......could be interior lights master switch or maybe awning light.

As pappajohn said, would say no 4 is for awning light.

does switch no1 just rock or can you move it into a fixed selection position?

Yes switch one can be rocked position locked either up or down

Switch must be for the awning light(no awning yet) and bulb must be out as does not come on

Thank you pappajohn and the old man for diagram and information

If you're still reading ...
As No1 switch is latchable it will use and charge whichever it is connected to.
Center position is using hookup only, both batteries disconnected.

I have had the same problem interpreting switching and how to use it - OP is lucky with a gauge, all I get is red or green lights!

I know that in cars, there has been a big move towards a VW/Audi/Merc layout for switchgear, with a few notable exceptions, but things are more 'interpretable' in a car.

Maybe we should be photographing and documenting the hab switchgear on our vans from all sources in order to have a databank of assistence in the event that you don't have the handbook, or like in my case, the handbook is written in German and didn't really explain anything about the panel very well when it was translated.

The only thing to be careful of is when parked up without EHU is to make sure the battery selector switch is down so you run the hab electrics from the leisure battery or you run the risk of flattening the engine battery. In normal use keep the switch in the down position even when on. EHU otherwise the leisure battery will get no charge. Just put the switch halfway when not using the van
