Long time
Got the Dyson Animal about 6 months ago, fantastic bit of kit!
We have a white JR and at certain times there is hair everywhere but the Dyson sorts it easily. I charge it up using the converter when we are driving and it copes admirably with a full clean as long as you don't use it on boost, which I've never needed to do!
It's easy to empty and the filter is easy to access, not needed to clean mine yet.
I know it's expensive but it does the job!

We've got a G-tech Mini in the van and an Air Ram at home too. Had Dysons for years and thought at time they cleaned well but G-tech clean carpets so much cleaner and so much lighter to handle, a real difference to use and in results. Wish I'd changed earlier!

After a variety of Dyson, red devil, and others we have Black & Decker PD1820LGB Flexi Handheld Vacuum Cleaner, its a great rechargeable stores easy and is very light weight.

We bought the Dyson hand held - now known as the animal when it first came out back in 2004 ish so far had to buy replacement battery . new filters and recently a replacement charger unit so total repairs in 13 years amount to £35 and it still works as well as when we first bought it used every day. Lot of outlay but Worth every penny

We got a black and decker 12v , works fine
Likewise.

We have a GSD/Border Collie cross and the vac copes admirably. May not be as good as Dyson (which we have at home), or GTech but it recharges when on hook up and has not run out of charge on us yet, although I admit, we do use EHU fairly regularly, as well as being off grid.

Bought a super vac 1000, at the Lincoln show last September, small, light, good attachments for £39. Not sure it would lift dog hairs that brilliantly.

I have the dyson animal but leave it at home ! I find the button is uncomfortable with arthritis in my right hand also the charge leads etc take up too much room in our small van, so I use a long handled (20" ) flat broom likenthis

I have a clip inside of wardrobe to hold it, everywhere else I use a hand held rubber brush for dog hairs etc.

Bet she was delighted, has the concussion healed now ?
To be honest she was ok with the hoover, however the ironing board last year didn't go down as well but it went with the iron I got the year before

Forget a hoover type, buy a shovel (surely everyone has one of those in the garage/shed?) and use when you can no longer walk around easily. If weight is an issue find a plastic show shovel.

Got a hand held Dyson, not sure model number but it's the grey & purple model and we are highly delighted with it.
Yes it was on the expensive side but we use it around the house as well and to us, was money well spent.
We bought a black & decker hand held vac prior and it was crap, so we sent it back.
