Dipped our toes plenty of times, now taken the plunge!
Hello. Spot of forward planning while I consider investments ahead of collecting our first Motorhome this week...

When I'm at home, is it wise/possible/worth plugging the Motorhome into my mains supply?

Also, does the leisure battery charge off the EHU? Or just off the engine?

In the Winter, keeps it warm !....In the Summer, get the fridge working the day before travelling !

The battery can be charged off the EHU if you have an on board charger which most MH's have !!

hi, i have a "socket " attached to the wall in my drive plugged into an on off switch inside the garage. works a treat. great for switching on a day or so before the off to get the fridge down to temp and top up the batteries as needed. some charger panels in motorhomes dont like being plugged in 24/7 365 days of the year, our Schault is such a beast so it only gets switched on when needed to top up batteries etc.... or misses hoover the van out :)

Since 2005
hookup charges your leisure battery.

Extended Hooking up at home depends on your charger.
Modern electronic 3 stage chargers can be left on permenantly but older anologue chargers will overcharge your battery.

Very interesting, thank you. I guess I need to check what charger it has. It's is a 14-year-old van, so probably an analogue one. I'm very tempted by a solar panel, so will look into the costs of doing that.
