Went to Honfleur a couple of weeks ago. Took this from where we were parked at the Aire.

[Honfleur is a wonderful town, what you see in the pic is just the start of it. The aire is large and very busy because it's such a popular place. The Normandy Bridge that you cross to get there is stunning.
Well worth a visit.

The aire is huge, something like 150 vans. Lovely walk into town and around it, and some cracking restaurants around the harbour.
€10 a night with free leccy, if you can find an empty socket. We didn't, but we rarely have EHU.

One of the prettiest towns in France, I think. The Aire is easy to access and so close to the town.
Stunning photo.

Been there once and won't go back.. not for us..

The town is certainly pretty, well worth a walk round, with many old timber buildings, and the aire is certainly close to town.. but that's where it ends..

The aire is a huge dusty busy carpark, overpriced and crowded with a shortage of EHU sockets.. the cafe's and restaurants are very expensive..

one to visit.. and one to leave .. I put it on the same list as Mont St Michel .. tacky and touristy (n)

Couldn't have put it better myself, we thought the aire very expensive for what you get, btw thought they charged us twelve euros, but it is the only one close enough to walk to town .

There is a camp site near beach, walkable into town .. haven't visited, it was closed when we were there.. ..

The aire is very impersonal, but we headed there at a busy period, during the DDay celebrations, and lots of smaller aires nearby were full. The promise of 150 places meant there was more chance of finding a spot, we parked in one of the nicest parts, but it was filling up quickly.

We enjoyed it there.
A french man asked us to share our electric.
What's the procedure on that?
Do you then only get half the amperage which is only around 6 amps anyway or do you get the whole amount.?
I was worried we would trip out on 3 so he went elsewhere.
To another French person who could understand him better.

No, you still get the full 6amps. We have shared before in Champagne, we used the other persons double adapter. A good way to make friends as the aire was free, so was the EHU!

Honfleur is one of our favourite towns in France and I certainly would not call it tacky . For us the aire is not the destination but just somewhere to stop and be able see the lovely town. However we usually visit in the low season when the aire is not so busy and hookup has always been available .

The Deauville/Trouville/Honfleur trilogy is basically Paris-sur-Mer. You only have to look at how many exclusive galleries have branches in the town to realise it's supposed to be a cut above Clacton. It's the final stop for many of those stretched limo river cruisers that ply the major rivers of Europe.

Busy in the high season yes, pricey in most places yes, but 'tacky'?! Pull the other one. You won't find Galeries Bartoux with their Bruno Catalano bronzes anywhere in Southend or Blackpool. If you shop around there are reasonably-priced tourist menus at restaurants with harbour views, and lower-priced eateries in the streets further back.

The aire is a massive tarmacked car park with good views of the magificint Pont de Normandie, and is a whole lot cheaper than a cabin in a stretched limo river cruiser. If you don't like crowds, go just before Easter - it's almost deserted. An enterprising local Boulanger passes through the aire each morning with a vanload of fresh bread.

We use it as our standard pre-Calais stopover when returning up the west side of France. Nice spot, and very photogenic too:
