We have just returned from a fantastic break in Cyprus. Now found another slot first week of December.
Home or abroard is the question. It is just a week so camper the UK or flight south is the question. If the weather is bad then a UK hotel is another option. Any recommendations would be welcome. Thanks....

Personally, I'd fly to the sun.

The best value of the year is normally at the beginning of December. Many are too focused on Christmas to want to travel, so there are always bargains to be had. (y)

First week of December will be full of lame store Christmas adverts , party political broadcasts and the likes of Boris and Corbyn knocking on your door. What's not to like :D

Abroad.. At least you will not have to suffer the lunacy of a load of lying MP's telling more lies that only the feeble minded are gullible enough to swallow !
Make it the 2nd week... that would be better !

Abroad for the sun.

A bit of winter sun is nice but to be honest if you are abroad in the summer its nice to have some cold fresh air wind in your face, get up a mountain, enjoy nature and the beautiful winter mornings, these hot type desert places are all the same, there is only so much sand and banana trees I can take  Luckily we are in the UK this Christmas and New Year s will be doing some exploring, maybe try Wales and was looking at Cheddar, sitting rotting on a beach gorging wine and cocktails can get very boring and does nothing for your health (y)

We did the Bahamas and then went on to the Cayman islands last Christmas and New Year, same hot sandy desert with rip off prices and palm trees, so in effect same cr@p different island, I was glad to get home, a few years ago we were buying a house in the Cayman islands and luckily it fell through (not bragging just a fact to explain), so glad we didn't as it is now just one huge commercial over developed dump. You can soon get bored of aqua marine sea, pure white sand and blue skies, you dream of getting up a mountain with wind an rain in your face and gorgeous views, the highest elevation point in Grand Cayman is 18m, so be careful what you wish for ;)

As this is the Motorhome Chat forum, I'm assuming you have already decided to MH!

Not necessarily Sabino, if I had put this in another forum then decided on using the motorhome, the post would have been in the incorrect forum. I think we have to be a bit flexible in our approach to choice of forum or we will get in a right old pickle..

Go back to Cyprus December is still nice weather,it's January & Feburary that's not so good

If you only have a week and want the sun then obviously you have to fly. If scenery is your thing then take the motorhome somewhere glorious like the lakes or peaks.

Also depends on what motorhome you have? Is it well insulated with a good heating system? What to you have buttons?

I think the decision has been made for me today, last year at a similar time we treated ourselves two a first class train London to Edinburgh. Picked up a car at Edinburgh station drove it west then south stopping each night in hotels before dropping off the hire car in Watford. It was a great week so this time, not booked yet but train up to Inverness, pick a car up there then west then south and drop car again in Watford. We planned this during a telephone call today so still have to book it. I do have a warm camper but don't fancy wet muddy camp sites in December. Come back rested ready for Christmas. (y)

Agree with that MN in the past I've spent Christmas their in Sunny Paphos. Great contrast in January/Febuary when you have to follow the snow plough to get up Mount Olympus where the snow is up to the roof tops of the houses. Leave there drive straight down to Limassol for some winter sun. It is like having the whole of Europe condensed into an island that is under 200 miles from end to end. Having said that, I have had my quota of sun for this year hence the Scotland plan for December.. :) (y)

Think of your carbon footprint!!!! A week in the Scottish highlands weather watching would be kinder to the planet.
